Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stonefield Apartment NOHR TROUT UNLIMITED CHAPTER ANNOUNCES SECOND LECTURE ON IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE IN SW WISCONSIN
How will climate change affect Wisconsin 's farming practices and local economies? What will the impact be on what we grow, soil conservation and our broader natural environment?
The Harry and Laura Nohr Chapter of Trout Unlimited is hosting the second presentation on this subject by representatives of the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts (WICCI). WICCI is a partnership of citizens and scientists who develop practical information for Wisconsin businesses, farmers, communities and governments on climate change effects and how we can respond to them.
Professor William Bland, chairman of the Department of Soil Science, UW-Madison, will discuss the impact of likely changes in weather patterns on agricultural and soil management practices in SW Wisconsin . The presentation, with a Power Point slide show, will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stonefield Apartments Community Center , 407 E. Madison St. in Dodgeville.
The presentation will be followed by a social with refreshments.
Directions to Stonefield Apartments: From Hwy 18, TURN SOUTH on to N. Johns St. (by the Post Office and Culvers), continue to Grace St. and TURN LEFT (next to Farmers Savings Bank), continue on Grace St . as the street turns to the right. After the turn, the STONEFIELD APARTMENTS (large two-story building) will be on the LEFT. Turn in at the first driveway on the North side of the building and enter the building at the far end.
